Matthew Tucker’s murder trial

Yesterday, the jury heard that dozens of bloodstains found on a pair of blue jeans submitted into evidence at Matthew Tucker’s murder trial matched the DNA profile of his mother.

A DNA expert testified that the chances of the DNA belonging to anyone other than Dorothy Tucker are “very close to zero.”

The 35 year old Tucker, of Oak Haven; is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his 53 year old mother near St. Stephen two years ago.

Her body was found wrapped in a plastic sheet in the woods.

She died of a gunshot wound to the head.

New Brunswick’s legislature will soon turn red

New Brunswick’s legislative assembly building will be illuminated in red this weekend.

The red lighting marks 50 days to go until the year-long celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation.

The legislative building is just one of many landmarks across the country that will be illuminated in red to celebrate the historic countdown.
