Saint John awarded thousands for code-violating condos

The city has been awarded $9000 total for infractions in a now-empty condo building.  Multiple units in the Mount Pleasant-area building didn’t meet minimum property standards, and the owners were fined $1000 per.  The condos also have to stay vacant until they’re brought to code.

Amendments to ban disposal of fracking wastewater in municipal infrastructure

The province is introducing legislative amendments to ban the disposal of fracking wastewater in municipal infrastructure.  Once amended, the Clean Environment Act will also ensure similar wastewater in other jurisdictions is not brought to New Brunswick for disposal.
