A painting by a member of the Group of Seven has set a new record for a Canadian painting at auction.
Mountain Forms by Lawren Harris sold at the Heffel Fine Art Auction House in Torointo yesterday for $11.2 million. That’s more than double the old record of 5 million for a painting by Paul Kane.

In the NHL…the Leafs lost a 5-4 shootout to the Devils. Flames shut down Columbus 2-0. Wild beat the Jets 3-1. Oilers beat the Avalanche 6-3. Canucks downed the Coyotes 4-1. Sidney had two goals and an assist as the Penguins pounded the Rangers 6-1.
In the NBA…the Raptors beat the Rockets 115-102 in Houston.
