Irving mill charged under Fisheries Act

Irving Pulp and Paper has been charged with 15 counts under the Fisheries Act.

The charges involve the dumping of a deleterious substance from the paper mill into the river between June of 2014 and last August. Just what the substance is hasn’t been made public.

The Irving Mill faces fines which could range from a minimum of $3 million to $120 million if found guilty on all 15 counts.

Grow-op busted

Three people have been arrested after RCMP busted a grow-op in Saint-Paul. Theyb raided a residence on Bon Secours Road and found 140 marijuanna plants and three pounds of processed weed.

They arrested two men, aged 38 and 41 along with a 27 year old woman. They have been released on ciditions and will be in court in March.
