The Gallant Government’s action plan on climate change includes a proposal to put a price on carbon…but doesn’t say if it will adopt a carbon tax.
Premier Gallant says his government is still working on what that pricing will look like saying he wants to avoid impacting electricity rates negatively as much as possible. The plan also says the use of coal to generate electricity will be phased out while respecting the province’s economic reality.
