Tory critic Moore releases end-of-year opinion piece

Conservative Critic for Atlantic Canada Rob Moore has released an end-of-year opinion piece.  In it he says one of the main things people tell him is how they think the Trudeau government is taking the region for granted.  Moore points to the new ACOA minister being from Ontario, and the attempt to replace a Nova Scotian Supreme Court judge with someone from away, among other things.

Quispamsis taxes to rise

The tax rate is going up in Quispamsis.

The Telegraph-Journal reports Town Council approved its operating and utility budgets last night and is increasing the tax rate by one cent to $1.28 per hundred dollars of assessment. Councillors were quick to point out that rate is still much lower than other municipalities of the same size in the province like Riverview.  Sewer and water rates will also be increasing.

The town will also be borrowing $750,000 over 15 years to invest in road repairs.
