Gov’t still working on new fighters

The head of the Air Force is rejecting suggestions that the Trudeau Government is dragging its feet on new jet fighters to replace the aging CF-18s.

Lt.-General Mike Hood says the government is taking a prudent amount of time because this is a big contract. The new defence policy includes replacing our current 76 CF-18s with 88 new warplanes.

US vs North Koreau

The US and North Korea continue to rattle sabres at each other.

The Trump administration says North Korea’s leaders are quickly closing off the possibility of a diplomatic solution on recent provocations like ICBM testing by Pyongyang. Trump has brought up the possibility of punishing countries that trade with North Korea…a threat aimed at China. American U-N Ambassador Nikki Haley has also raised the prospect of military action.
