Nova Scotia Power is applying a protective coating to its six transmission towers at the Canso Causeway. It prevents corrosion and will extend their life by 20 years. Crews will be in the area over the next three weeks.

Sentencing for sexual assault
An Eskasoni man has been given four months in jail for sexually assaulting a friend. Davis Joseph Prosper’s aboriginal status was taken into account for the sentencing. He pleaded guilty to the August 2015 incident, which happened with a 16-year-old girl in her bedroom.
