District 9’s Cleary sworn in after recount

District 9 councillor Shawn Cleary was sworn-in today after a judicial recount yesterday confirmed his victory October 15th.

A judicial recount was requested by Linda Mosher, who had represented the district for many years, after allegations Mosher had been cheated out of 311 votes. Police investigated and found no evidence of that.

The judge found the vote count changed by just one leaving Cleary with a 107 vote margin over Mosher.

CBRM council swear-in

The ceremony for swearing in of Mayor and Council will be on November 4 at noon at Centre 200. Justice Robin Gogan will preside over the swearing of the oath of office.

One council seat, District 2, will remain vacant pending a judicial recount on November 10. A separate oath of office swearing will be held for that councillor-elect at the council chambers at a scheduled council meeting.

All are welcome to attend.
