Robbery charges

Police have laid charges in a rash of recent robberies after a weekend traffic stop.

Two men were taken into custody Sunday night after officers noticed a man get out of the trunk of a car while they were looking for a suspect in an armed robbery at a drug store. The 25 year old driver faces drug possession and trafficking charges in court later after they found drugs in the car. The man who got out of the trunk, 25 year old Michael Keltie Baldwin, is facing theft, robbery and other charges in connection with the drug store and four other robberies.

Economic statement

The Trudeau Government is setting up an experimental infrastructure bank to help revive the economy.

Finance Minister Bill Morneau, in his economic statement yesterday, said growth has been slower than they expected and that’s hurting the bottom line and the deficit. Morneau says they have a cure however with this lending institution which they hope will bring in billions in foreign capital.
