Legislature opens with throne speech focusing on education

The fall session of the legislature opened with a throne speech focusing mostly on education. Included was increased opportunities for students to learn coding and the trades; more money to help pay for daycare; and free tuition for undergrad students attending a public New Brunswick post-secondary school whose family earns up to $60,000 a year. Province introduces accessibility legislation

The province has introduced legislation for more accessibility and less barriers for people with disabilities.  An Act Respecting Accessibility in Nova Scotia is a framework for government to work with communities, businesses and non-profit organizations to create accessibility standards.
