Jail time for gun offence

A south end man is going to jail for 60 days for pointing a rifle at police. 44 year old Daniel Gene Hebert was also fined for having small amounts of drugs but he’ll pay that with jail time, according to the Telegraph-Journal.

Officers were answering a call about a dispute between neighbours last June on Prince William Street. Hebert was arguing with a neighour and went to get his rifle…coming back out of his home as police arrived and he turned the gun towards them but didn’t fire. It wasn’t loaded.

Throne speech

The Gallant Government promised to deliver on three priorities in its throne speech…education, economic growth and health care.

The speech focused on education with initiatives to give students more opportunities to learn coding and trades, increasing the amount provided to help people pay for daycare and introducing French immersion in Grade 1 starting next September.
