The Strait Regional School Board has chosen Francine Boudreau as its chair for her third straight term. Vice chair Jamie Sampson was also acclaimed.
Both positions are for one-year term.
The Cape Breton and Victoria Regional Board, meanwhile; is waiting for the education minister to choose between Lorne Green and John Berk, as votes on who should be the chair ended in ties.
A couple of moves in the teachers’ contract dispute yesterday.
NSTU President Liette Doucet said the union was applying to the Labour Minister for a mediator to try to avoid a strike December 3rd.
That came just after Premier Stephen McNeil announced his government was launching an advertising campaign extolling its position in the dispute.
McNeil says there’ll be government funded and Liberal party funded ads.
