South Shore nursing home cuts more than double initial reports: NDP

Numbers released by the McNeil government show nursing home cuts on the South Shore are more than double what was initially reported.  Seven regional nursing homes have seen a total of $378,758 in cuts.  Chester-St. Margaret’s MLA Denise Peterson-Rafuse is questioning the Liberals about why there isn’t a new facility for Shoreham Village in Chester, and the lack of progress opening a Collaborative Emergency Centre in Lunenburg.

Cape Breton nursing home cuts almost double initial reports: NDP

After several requests from the NDP and a Freedom of Information request, the Liberal government finally released a document outlining the extent of the cuts to nursing homes across the province. The numbers show that the cuts to nursing homes in Cape Breton are almost double what was initially reported.  Eight nursing homes in Cape Breton County have seen a total of $474,199 in cuts.
