Pedestrian Struck in Eastern Passage

Police are continuing to investigate after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Eastern Passage on Friday morning. RCMP say a 43-year-old man was struck by Dodge Journey while walking in the crosswalk at the intersection of Cowbay Road and Main Road around 11:30am. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the dodge, a 75-year-old man, has been charged with failing to Yield to a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk.

Drug Bust

Yesterday afternoon Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Thirteenth Street in New Waterford.

As a result of the search, a 54 year old man from New Waterford and a 36 year old woman also from New Waterford were arrested and taken into custody.

Police seized hydromorphone pills and cash at the residence.

The man was released from custody with a court date of January 23rd, 2017 on a charge of possession for the purpose to traffic (hydromorph). The female was released facing no charges.
