Air testing on east side

TransCanada Corp has committed to measuring the air quality near the site where it wants to put a huge tank farm where it’ll hold the oil from Alberta that comes here through the Energy East Pipeline.

The monitoring will set a baseline measurement of air quality before construction begins on the tank farm near Anthony’s Cove Road. Garry Prosser, of the Citizens Coalition for Clean Air, told the Telegraph-Journal his group is asking the provincial governmen to do the testing…someone independant.

They’re still working on Rothesay Road

Rothesay Road is still closed so commuters will have to allow extra time this morning.

They were hoping to have the repavcing work done and the road reopened on the weekend….but the bad weather has delayed that. They’ll lay the asphalt as soon as they can and hope to have the street open this week.

Rothesay town manager John Jarvie told the Telegraph-Journal when Roithesay Road reopens it won’t be back to normal, however, as crews will have some finishing touches to do which could cause delays.
