Justice Minister Diana Whalen is expanding the restorative justice program to the whole province because pilot projects have been so successful.

Restorative justice required youth offenders to take responsibility for their actions and held them accountable to the community and their victims.

The pilot projects began in 2011 but now it will be offered across the province and will include adult offenders.

A Boutiliers Point man is facing charges after a stabbing near the Government Wharf on St. Margaret’s Bay.

The suspect entered a residence around 4:00 Saturday afternoon and was told to leave.  The victim then drove to the wharf and confronted him, at which point he was stabbed in the foot.  38 year old Kevin Arthur Whiting is up on several charges.
