Premier Stephen McNeil apologized to Mi’kmaq chiefs yesterday for words in a government legal brief which infered members of a First Nation band were a conquered people.
Justice Minister Diana Whalen says her officials are also investigating how the term got in the document used in court in the Alton gas protest case. She wouldn’t say if there’s been any discipline for the lawyer who presented the brief in court.
