Two of the most common scams are phishing and smishing, the former being approached via email by a company and the latter being via text. Police remind that reputable companies will never ask you to verify account information online.

Teen arrested after Sheet Harbour weapons complaint
Halifax District RCMP responded to a weapon complaint earlier today.
At 8:30 a.m. this morning, Halifax District RCMP responded to a complaint of a youth with a firearm on a trail adjacent to Duncan MacMillan High School on Church Point Rd. in Sheet Harbour.
The school immediately implemented a lockdown while members of the RCMP Sheet Harbour Detachment arrived on-scene and arrested a 15-year-old male without incident.
