A prominent critic of NAFTA has been appointed by Donald Trump to be in charge of the commerce portfolio in the cabinet.

79 year old Wilbur Ross, a billionaire investor; condemns foreign sales taxes as a backdoor tariff on American goods.

Ross is just the latest in a number of billionaire businessmen appointed by president-elect Trump.

In the Q-League, the Mooseheads lost a 2-1 decision on the road in Quebec City.  The Screaming Eagles dropped a 7-6 shootout to the Huskies at Centre 200, and the Islanders beat the Titans 5-1 in Bathurst.

Only two Canadian teams on the ice in the NHL, the Flames shut down the Leafs 3-0; it was Chad Johnson’s third shutout for Calgary in 8 starts.

In the NBA the Raptors clawed the Grizzlies 120-105 for their fourth straight win.
