Irving mill charged under Fisheries Act

Irving Pulp and Paper has been charged with 15 counts under the Fisheries Act.

The charges involve the dumping of a deleterious substance from the paper mill into the river between June of 2014 and last August. Just what the substance is hasn’t been made public.

The Irving Mill faces fines which could range from a minimum of $3 million to $120 million if found guilty on all 15 counts.

Stormy weather

There’s more snow coming today, although not a lot…another 5cm to 10cm or so… plus some rain on top of the more than 20cm we already have. And there’ll be wind as well probably taking down more power lines.

There are still thousands of people without power after the storm. NB Power has outages listed mainly along the Trans-Canada Highway corridor from here to west of Fredericton, as well as south of Sussex.
