New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec have signed a new co-operative agreement for truckers. Drivers of long-combination vehicles, which have multiple tandem trailers on one tractor truck, can have free movement between provinces. Harmonizing the standards is meant to remove a barrier for economic growth.

Province releases 2017 community funding, equalization grant numbers
The province will hand out $74.7 million in community funding and equalization grants next year. The 2017 total tax base also increased by $1.1 billion, or 1.73%, over this year. Municipalities and rural communities will have a core funding component of $12.7 million, with $53.3 million in equalization. Local service districts will get $2.6 million in core funding, and a police equalization of $4.4 million.
