In the NHL…Canadiens handled the Devils 5-2. Flames burned the Coyotes 2-1 in overtime for their fifth straight win. Flyers beat the Oilers 6-5. Rangers downed the Jets 2-1. Canucks took down the Lightning 5-1.
In the NBA…the Raptors pounded the Timberwolves 124-110.
Kansas City beat the Raiders 21-13 in the NFL’s thursday night game.
Cape Breton Regional Police have charged a man in a ten year old murder.
49 year old Raymond Glenn Farrow of Glace Bay has been charged with the killing of 82 year old Harold “Buster” Slaunwhite in his home in Dominion in September of 2006.
Police Chief Peter McIsaac says an extremely dedicated investigative team spent thousands of hours dealing with mounds of evidence to get them to the arrest. They have been working in conjunction with the RCMP since 2014.
Farrow will be back in court on the 15th on a first degree murder charge.
