Emergency helicopters could resume landing on hospital helipads within six months.
The province says a deal to lease two Sikorsky helicopters to transport critically ill patients should be finalized next month. The newer Sikorsky’s will be compliant with Transport Canada regulations for rooftop landings. The current LifeFlight helicopter has been banned from landing on hospital rooves since April.
Another former member of the Canadian Forces is suing for alleged discrimination…this one based on her sexual orientation.
Halifax lawyer John McKiggan says in the statement of claim that the government identified, harassed and purged lesbians and gays from the Armed Forces. The lawsuit spans 1969 to 1995 and applies to anyone who served in Atlantic Canada.
It names Nova Scotian Alida Satalic as the representative plaintiff in the class action.
