NSGEU civil service workers have voted 94% against a contract offer. The deal was reached over a year ago and was the same as proposed to all unions: four years, with a two-year wage freeze before a 3% total bump in the last two years. They can’t legally strike, but arbitration is a next step.

Fairview Overpass construction
The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that beginning today, and continuing until Friday, road construction will take place in the outbound lanes of the Fairview Overpass, weather permitting.
Tomorrow and Friday, crews will be working from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During this work there will be lane drops in place. Motorists should expect delays in the area and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
