Sydney home invasion

Police continue to investigating a home invasion in North Sydney Sunday afternoon.

They’re asking for help in locating two men who broke into a 95 year old woman’s home on Haley Street and stole her cash and jewellery.   She was home at the time but not hurt.

One man is described as tall and slim, wearing grey pants and a black and grey checked jacket, black boots, as well as a red and green mask.  The second man was shorter with black hair and was wearing a white sweater and black jeans.

If you saw or heard anything in the area at that time Sunday afternoon around 5:30, call the police or Crimestoppers.

Sydney Port concerns

Some councillors are expressing concern that they’re being rushed into votes on background deals involving port development.

Councillor Earlene MacMullin told the Local Xpress she isn’t sure she’s been given enough information to make a decision yesterday afternoon.  She and other councillors only heard about the deal to sign an operator for the port by reading the Local Xpress’s interview with Mayor Cecil Clarke Tuesday and that they’d have to vote on its this afternoon.
