Hearts of the North is putting the brakes on adoption after reports of attacks. The organization brings American death row dogs to the Maritimes, but on Facebook it says it’ll stop in the meantime. The post also points out there have been two incidents out of almost 1000 dogs, and that’s considered successful. However, Vets in the province are also raising concerns that adopted dogs are bringing new cases of heartworm into the province.

DFO Not Concerned over NS Fish Kill
DFO says nothing appears out of the ordinary in St. Marys Bay. Testing has shown the environment to be normal, as have pictures of the bottom. Shallow water in the area recently dropped to -5, with that and rough surf being a possible cause of dead marine life washing ashore.
