Team Canada has advanced to the semi-finals at the World Juniors with a 5-3 win over the Czech Republic and will play Sweden tomorrow. The Russians and Americans play the other semi.

A doctor who delivered more than 15,000 babies in his career at the IWK has passed away.
Dr. Irving Perlin, a Sydney native, was in his mid-nineties.
Dr. Perlin established his practise in Halifax in 1949, according to CBC and practised there for 45 years. He also taught at the Dal medical school.
