Millions to renovate major government office building

Premier Brian Gallant says the building housing most government offices in Fredericton will undergo major renovations.

The Centennial Building will undergo an estimated $76 million in work and a new courthouse will be built at the site starting later this year.

The King Street facade will be restored while the back wing will be replaced with the courthouse. The work should be done by 2021.

Two home invasions…one house

Several charges have been laid against two men after two home invasions in the same house about six hours apart.

The first was around 6:30 tuesday evening at the home on Harvey Street. Then at 1:00 yesterday morning they went back to try it again…but police were still in the area and arrested the pair.

22 year old year old Michael Gibbons of Halifax and 19 year old Alexander Balfe of Chester are facing several charges each.
