Trade deals

A key advisor to the new President tried to assure our federal cabinet Canada doesn’t need to be enormously worried about Donald Trump’s trade policies.

Stephen Schwarzman spoke to the Prime Minister and his cabinet at their retreat in Calgary saying Canada is well-regarded by the president and in a good position in any renegotiation of NAFTA.

He said Trump is more concerned with agreements involving big trade imbalances which is not the case with Canada.
