Electoral reform

Most Canadians are happy with the current voting system in Canada.

A report by the government’s electoral reform survey also says, however, we are willing to accept change. Over half in the survey also said they are opposed to mandatory voting. A majority are also in favour of online voting as long as the system is demonstrably secure.

Viral video from Digby Neck

Video of one of the international women’s marches Saturday is going viral.

A video of the march on Digby Neck across the Bay in Nova Scotia has over 150,000 views and hundreds of comments.

Gwen Wilson and Melissa Merritt wanted to participate in one of the marches to support women’s rights but the closest one to them was Halifax…so they decided to hold their own in Sandy Cove. They were surprised when a dozen other women, a couple of men and some children showed up.

8 seconds of video posted to their Facebook site shows about 15 people marching down the road ringing bells and laughing. It’s a hit.
