Funding for Grand Falls Francophone school

The province has announced $1.7 million to complete renovations at a Francophone secondary school in Grand Falls.

The province says the funding is also aimed at adding 30 years of life to Polyvalente Thomas-Albert, which was built in 1969 and serves about 580 students.

The funding is part of about $88 million the province is investing in public schools in 2017-18.

School boards working on how to make up for snow days

School boards in the province are considering how to make up for all the snow days caused by storms this winter.

A lot of classroom time has been lost and some boards are trying to figure out how to make up that time. Some professional development days for teachers may be cancelled. Some winter carnivals may also be lost as well as other activities that take kids out of the classroom.
