The Moncton Hospital is getting ready to build a new labour and delivery unit. Premier Brian Gallant will be announcing provincial funding for the hospital today, according to the Times and Transcript.
The new maternity unit will replace one closed a year ago because of rust found in the ventilation system.
RCMP stopped to help a car that had slid off the highway into a ditch in Nova Scotia on the weekend, although the occupants from Moncton wish they hadn’t.
Officers who stopped to help in Kemptown spotted suspicious packages which turned out to be 6.8 kilograms of cocaine. They also say the driver’s license was suspended and both the man and woman from Moncton had outstanding warrants. So they are cooling their heels in the lockup now.
