A-G critical of wait times for hip and knee surgeries

Auditor General Michael Pickup says only two of seven recommendations made in 2014 have been implemented to reduce wait times for knee and hip surgeries. Nova Scotia has the longest wait times in the country for those.

Pickup says the Health Authority hasn’t given patients a clear target of how long they have to wait for surgery. About 90% of patients get their hip replacement within 750 days and knee replacements within 800 days….which are well short of national goals.
