Luring Teen

Police say a Halifax teenager is facing several charges for allegedly luring a 12-year-old American girl online and demanding photos of her.

They say the 16-year-old boy has been charged with luring a child, possession of child pornography and extortion and is due in court later this month.

The charges follow an investigation started last August after police received information from the U-S Department of Homeland Security regarding a 12-year-old girl in Washington State.

Police say the two met playing an online game and he allegedly asked her for photos of her and then threatened to post the girl’s photos online if she didn’t send more.
