The only way the city can appeal that much reduced property assessment on the Canaport LNG property is if the Irvings appeal first, according to CBC.
Councillor Gerry Lowe last week raised the possibility the city would appeal the massive cut in the property value by the provincial government…but because it was the province that cut the assessment the city can’t appeal. The Irving’s will be saving millions a year on property taxes.
