Man charged with shooting dog

A 22 year old man is facing charges after a dog was shot in the woods in the Kennebecasis Valley. Zachary Shayne Wright, of Ellerdale Street,  was arraigned in court in Saint John yesterday.

Police say the incident happened Saturday after the man was involved in an accident. The man was seen by witnesses going into the woods with a dog and gun then coming out without the dog.

Police say during their investigation they found a handgun on the man and a BB gun in the snow as well as some drugs. Then they found the dog with a gunshot wound. He is now recovering well after being treated by a Vet.

Another teen charged in Clayton Park shooting

Police have arrested a second teen in connection with a shooting last March in Clayton Park.

A 16 year old boy was arrested on the weekend at the Waterville Youth Facility and charged with attempted murder, consiracy to committ robbery and other counts.  Earlier, 19 year old Terrance Treshon Brooks of Cole Harbour was arrested in relation to this shooting on February 1.

Last March, police were called to a residence on Parkland Drive and found a 60 year old man who had been shot. The victim died a few months later but the medical examiner ruled the death was not a result of his wounds.
