Ability New Brunswick wants cities and towns to increase the fines for people parking in disabled spots.
It would like to see the fine go to $172.50, according to CBC. Right now the fine in Saint John is $30.
Executive Director Haley Flaro says the misuse of accessible parking spaces is becoming more of a problem…people are missing appointments because they can’t find a spot due to people without the proper permits parking in the accesible spaces…and there are also safety issues.
Codiac RCMP continue to investigate the mass emailing of intimate images to students and staff at UdeM.
Inspector Luc Breton says the victim has given them a statement and they have identified a suspect but haven’t be able to locate him. The victim is also being offered counselling and other services.
He pointed out the force is aware of the intense public interest in this case saying such investigations are particularly complex. Breton says they are working diligently to ensure all investigative avenues are properly addressed.
