Deadly intersection

People who live near the scene of that fatal accident in Boudreau-Ouest this week say it’s a dangerous intersection that the government needs to clean up. A 17 year old girl was killed as she pull out of Ohio Service Road onto Route 133.

Harold Finck, who lives near the corner, told CBC he heard the accident. He also said both roads are very busy and visibility is poor there because of trees and bushes that are growing out onto the road.

Covered bridge open to tour buses again

Tour buses can cross the Vaughan Creek covered bridge in St. Martin’s again.

Weight restrictions were imposed a couple of weeks ago on the bridge which is a key link to the Fundy Trail Parkway and sea caves.

Transportation Minister Bill Fraser told CBC supports have now been added and traffic is back to normal. He also says a modular bridge will be installed next to the wooden bridge which will be a back up in case the covered bridge fails again. His department is also looking at a more permanent link to the Fundy Parkway.
