BC fire fighters have made some progress in the last day day or two on getting control of some of the 200+ wildfires in the province…but they are looking at the weekend forecast with trepidation.
Conditions are expected to worsen with stronger winds fanning the flames which have forced over 16,000 people to evacuate their homes.
A Toronto judge has refused to freeze the government’s $10.5 million payout to Omar Khadr.
The widow of the soldier Khadr is alleged to have killed and a soldier wounded in that battle in Afghanistan were in court in Toronto yesterday trying to freeze the payment so they can sue to get it.
The judge ruled there was no evidence Khadr is planning to hide assets to avoid enforcement of a huge American court award against him.
