A class action lawsuit has been certified by a judge against the RCMP for sexual harrassment.

That means the court can move ahead with approval of a settlement announced last May between the federal government and the women.

The tentative deal creates six categories of claimants with the most egregious abuse claimants getting to $220,000.

Canadiens were shut down 1-0 by the Red Wings.  Bruins were also shutout 4-0 by tyhe Islanders.  Oilers beat the Coyotes 3-1.  Jets lost 5-2 to the Sharks.  The Penguins needs overtime to get by the Capitals 8-7.

At the first of tennis’ grand slams the Australian Open, Milos Raonic advanced to the second round with a victory of Germany’s Dustin Brown.  Earlier Eugenie Bouchard scored a straight set victory over American Louisa Chirico.
