A Moncton man has been released from jail after pleading guilty to several offences including sexual touching of a girl under 16.
That’s because 61 year old Bharat Kumar Gadher is a first-time offender and has been in jail since his arrest 14 months ago. Court was told Gadher contacted 8 girls through websites. He saw some of them only once but others regularly.
A 21 year old Elsipoktok man has been sentenced to four years after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a minor and child-porn related charges. Billy Ray Peters was given credit for time already spent in custody, leaving him with 40 months still to serve.
Police arrested him after an investigation into online images of child sexual abuse. A second matter involved the sexual assault of a minor and breach of court-ordered conditions.
