Province launches survey for business community on red tape

The province is surveying the business community on how to further reduce red tape.  Service New Brunswick has created a business satisfaction survey, which allows entrepreneurs and employers to identify government services they access.  Participants can then provide ratings and further details about their experiences.  The survey is available online at gnb.ca/redtapesurvey until about February 3rd.

Sentencing for obstruction, resisting

A Queens County man has been sentenced for obstructing peace officers and resisting arrest.  Keith Curtis Brooks of Damascus was evicted from his Moncton apartment last March, and got a year’s probation and conditional discharge after pleading guilty.  Brooks said he was mad, telling court he’d paid rent just before the eviction and wanted to see paperwork.
