Another bridge in the province has been damaged because of an accident…forcing detours for regular users.

Drivers travelling between Oromocto and Fredericton through Lincoln now have to detour after a dump truck hit the Lincoln Bridge yesterday morning. The dump truck had its box up, smashed into the overhead girders and got stuck.

The bridge has been closed to all traffic until an engineering assessment is done. Route 102 near the Fredericton airport is shut down and vehicles are being rerouted via Nevers Road.

Snow clearing efforts continued on the weekend…helped by the warm temperatures yesterday melting snow…at least on the pavements.

The snow banks are still pretty high, however….and covering hydrants… which is a concern for the fire department.

If you know where the hydrant is near your home, you might want to clear the snow away from it so fire fighters don’t waste several minutes frantically digging through snow to get to the water if there’s a fire in your home.
