The provincial government is praising a milestone by Ottawa.
The federal government yesterday proclaimed into law changes to the Canada Pension Plan agreed to last summer. They will increase the maximum CPP Benefit by 50% in stages over seven years starting in 2019.
NB Finance Minister Cathy Rogers says they will give future generations a more secure and dignified retirement.
Prime Minister Trudeau was on Vancouver Island yesterday talking about pot shops.
Trudeau says his government wants to have the sale of marijuanna legal by summer…but until then the current laws haven’t changed. He said regulating the sale of marijuanna will protect young people and take money away from criminal gangs. He also said it won’t be legalizing any other illicit drugs.
