Twinning specialist hired for Route 11

The province has hired a full-time employee to deal with the twinning of Route 11.

The Leader reports they’ll determine if there’s a good case to do the highway all the way up to Miramichi.  21 kilometres between the Shediac River and McKees Mills will be twinned for sure, as well as creating a Glenwood-Miramichi bypass.

Blame game

The blame game continues.

The provincial government has been suggesting big increases in tax bills for many homeowners are partly the fault of municipalities because they set the tax rate.

The municipalities are pointing right back at the government saying they won’t be blamed for double digit assessment increases and mistakes made on 2,400 of those assessments. Raymond Murphy, head of the Union of Municipalities of New Brunswick, told Brunswick News it’s Service New Brunswick that screwed up…and they need to admit it and move on.
