Washout will remain washed out for weeks

Tourism season is fast approaching and businesses are growing more concerned about the washout on Route 114 leading to Fundy National Park.

Transportation Minister Bill Fraser told reporters it’ll likely be another seven weeks before a modular bridge can be installed to replace the culvert that washed out earlier this month between Riverview and Hillsborough.

Fraser asked for patience. His department is looking at improving the rough 22 kilometre detour to get to the park such as filling potholes and providing temporary lane markings.  A public meeting will be held early next week for area residents and business owners to update them on the situation.

Investigation continuing into malicious emails

The investigation continues into the malicious emails that haunted students and staff at Universite de Moncton. There haven’t been anymore since the university put restrictions on its servers.

RCMP have identified a suspect but have not been able to locate him. Inspector Luc Breton says it’s complex when you’re dealing with computers, emails and social media…but he wanted the public to know they are taking the matter seriously.
