A horrible human smuggling tragedy in Texas. At least nine people died crammed into a sweltering hot tractor-trailer. They were found in the parking lot of a Walmart in the border city of San Antonio in what officials are calling an immigrant-smuggling attempt gone terribly wrong. Nearly 20 others suffered extreme dehydration and heatstroke.

Residents of two communities in B.C. were able to return to their homes on the weekend.
The evacuation orders in 100 Mile House and Princeton were downgraded to alerts and residents were allowed to go home…but they may have to leave again at a moment’s notice. Over 30,000 other British Columbians remain displaced from their homes. High winds are still fanning flames in some areas of the province.
