Drug bust in Dieppe

A 23-year-old man has been charged in connection with a drug seizure in Dieppe. On May 16, 2017, around 4 p.m., RCMP members executed a search warrant at a home on Gauvin Road in Dieppe. They seized various quantities of what is believed to be cocaine, crack cocaine, hydromorphone, and methamphetamine, as well as a quantity of undetermined prescription tablets. The man and a 25-year-old woman were later arrested.

Brandon Leblanc of Dieppe appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on May 17, and was charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, as well as one count each of possession of drugs and possession of a concealed weapon. He has been remanded pending a bail hearing on May 19. The woman was released pending a later court appearance.

Consumer confidence rises in Moncton

Consumer confidence in Moncton has increased slightly this quarter to its highest level in 18 months, according to the most recent Urban Report survey conducted by Corporate Research Associates Inc. (CRA).
Specifically, Moncton consumer confidence rests at 106.8, compared with 103.3 three months ago.

Three months after reaching its lowest level since tracking began in August 2013, satisfaction with the performance of the Moncton Council appears to have rebounded slightly. Specifically, just over six in ten (63%, compared with 58% in February 2017) Moncton residents are satisfied with the performance of the Council under the leadership of Mayor Arnold, who was elected on May 9, 2016.
