Two arrested in machete attack

Two men have been charged in connection with a machete attack at a MacDonald’s Drive-thru early Tuesday.

26 year old Steven Cochrane of Riverview and 19 year old Brogan Black of Hopewell Cape remain custody on aggravated assault carges until a bail hearing tomorrow.

The Mounties were called to the McDonalds on Paul Street in Dieppe around 2:30 Tuesday morning after a man was reportedly cut by two men with a machete in the drive-thru. He was treated in hospital and has been released.

RCMP told the Times and Transcript they believe it was an altercation that began somewhere else and ended at the restaurant.

Arrest in convenience store holdup

RCMP have a 26 year old man in custody in connection with a convenience store holdup last week.

Last Friday, a man robbed the store on Humphrey Street using a gun. Nobody was hurt. The RCMP is thanking the public for its assistance in tracking the suspect down.
